Privacy Policy

1. Data Controller

AvioSharing ("we", "us", "our") is the data controller for personal data collected through the platform. Our registered address and contact details are available on request.

2. Data We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal data:

  • Account data: name, email address, profile photo
  • Identity verification (pilots): pilot licence documents, licence number
  • Flight data: routes, schedules, aircraft details
  • Payment data: processed by Stripe; we store only transaction references
  • Usage data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, device information
  • Communications: booking messages, support correspondence

3. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your data under the following legal bases: (a) performance of a contract (to provide the Service), (b) legitimate interests (platform security, fraud prevention), (c) consent (marketing communications, analytics cookies), and (d) legal obligation (tax records, regulatory compliance).

4. How We Use Your Data

We use your data to: operate and provide the Service, verify pilot licences, process payments, send transactional notifications, investigate safety incidents, comply with legal obligations, and improve the platform.

5. Data Sharing

We share data with: Stripe (payment processing), Resend (email delivery), Expo (push notifications), Sentry (error monitoring), and PostHog (analytics). All processors are subject to appropriate data processing agreements. We do not sell personal data.

6. Data Retention

We retain account data for as long as your account is active, plus any period required by law. Booking and transaction records are retained for 7 years for tax and regulatory purposes. You may request deletion of your account and personal data subject to these retention obligations.

7. Your Rights

Under applicable data protection law (UK GDPR / EU GDPR), you have the right to: access your personal data, correct inaccurate data, erase your data (right to be forgotten), restrict processing, data portability, and object to processing. 9. International Transfers

Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside the UK/EEA. Where this occurs, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place (e.g. Standard Contractual Clauses).
