How cost sharing is calculated
How pricing works

The price is always the legal maximum

AvioSharing calculates the price per seat automatically. The pilot enters the total direct costs (fuel, landing fees, aircraft rental). We divide that by the total number of occupants, including the pilot.

Formula
price per seat = total direct cost ÷ (seats + 1)
Pilot's own share is always included. No profit possible.

Built for safety and trust

Every part of the platform is designed to protect both pilots and passengers.

EASA compliant
Cost-sharing caps are enforced in code. Pilots can never profit.
Verified pilots
Licence review and identity verification before any flight is listed.
Secure payments
Funds held in escrow. Only released after the flight completes.
Mutual reviews
Both pilot and passenger review each other. Accountability both ways.

Frequently asked questions

Is this legal?
Yes. Cost-sharing flying is explicitly permitted under EU Regulation 965/2012 (EASA) and equivalent national regulations. AvioSharing enforces the legal cost-sharing cap. Pilots can never profit from their flights.
How much does a flight cost?
Prices vary by route, aircraft, and number of passengers. Typically €50 to €300 per seat for European routes. The pilot enters the total direct costs (fuel, landing fees, aircraft rental), and the platform divides that by the total number of occupants.
What if the pilot cancels?
You receive a full refund automatically. Pilots are asked to cancel as early as possible, and cancellation history is visible on their profile.
Are the pilots insured?
All flights must comply with the aircraft's hull and liability insurance. Pilots confirm insurance coverage when listing a flight. Passengers fly under the same insurance as any other occupant of a private aircraft.
What aircraft types can I find?
Primarily single-engine piston aircraft (Cessna 172, Piper PA-28, Diamond DA40) and light twins. Some pilots fly more advanced aircraft. Check the individual listing for full details.
Do I need any experience to fly as a passenger?
No. Passengers don't need any qualifications or experience. The pilot is the licensed, responsible person on board.
